What had to become 2 beautiful days in Valencia became a nightmare. We booked the car online in advance for 55,60 euros, filled in all the information online. When we arrived they did not pick us up at the airport but in some parking far away where you have to walk by yourself with all the baggage. Once we were there, they made us first go to a self-check machine to fill in all our details again. When al the details were finally in, then the guy said that we couldn’t use contactless and that we had to start again. He took us back to the frontdesk and asked three other guys to help him retrieve our booking. This took so long that we were already late to the event we came to attend. When they managed to retrieve our reservation, they told us that we should pay 97,50 euros extra for petrol and 80 euros extra for insurance because otherwise they would charge us 400 euros for insurance and it would take 30 days for them to return it (and literally in their words, they always screw you over for little scratches so better do it). At this point, we were late, starving and mad. When we finally got the car after paying three times what we expected, the car had all sorts of problems, which delayed us even more. We had to bring the car back on the 24th of April, which we did but because it was not at 13:00 but a bit later they forced us to pay a fine of 135,- euros telling us that they had called us and emailed us. They had not called us and when we had tried to call, they didn’t pick up. We also replied to their email saying that we were on our way. When we explained it, the response of the guy was ‘I am just a worker and can’t help you’ ‘it is what they decide from above me’. They said to contact customer support if we didn’t agree. What the hell?!! They just rip you off no matter what you do, which is why we are starting a lawsuit. We are fortunate to be able to pay the money but this is unacceptable and we feel very mistreated and fooled by a bunch of unbelievable ‘car thieves’.
